Vidsan Charterhouse - Admissions Procedure

We look forward to admitting children from families that not only align with our academic philosophy and objectives but will also be instrumental in preserving the imparted values. The first step that gets aspiring parents closer to gifting their child/children the Vidsan Life is filling out and submitting the online application form. The applications received are further processed based on the grade and programme of entry as detailed below. Since we grant admission on first fill basis, it is in the best interest of parents to submit the duly filled application at the earliest to enhance prospects.

Nursery | KG 1 | KG 2

Once we receive the complete admission application, it is scrutinised and sent to the Admissions Committee for evaluation. Based on the committee’s feedback, we call the parents along with their child/children for an informal interaction with the nominated admissions panel. Other than this interaction we don’t conduct any other structured assessment for admissions applied for in Nursery and KG 1.

However, for admissions in KG 2, besides the interaction we also conduct a kindergarten readiness screening to evaluate children on the following parameters:

1. Ability to recognise numbers and alphabets.
2. Focus and attention span
3. Listening abilities
4. Social behaviour mapped through playtime assessment
5. Phonological and Phonemic awareness
6. Reflexes and muscle actions

We inform the prospective parents about our final decision within 7 days after the interaction and kindergarten readiness screening.

CAMBRIDGE PRIMARY YEARS PROGRAMME

Grade 1 | Grade 2 | Grade 3 | Grade 4 | Grade 5

Once we receive the complete admission application, it is scrutinised and sent to the Admissions Committee for evaluation. Based on the committee’s feedback, we call the child/children for a structured 30 to 45 minutes written assessment on the curriculum of previous grade with an objective to evaluate the child’s academic aptitude. The assessment is followed by a relaxed yet formal interaction of the child/children along with their parents with the nominated admissions panel through which we assess the child’s English proficiency, general awareness and conduct.

• Subjects for written assessment for Grades 1 are English and Mathematics.
• Subjects for written assessment for Grades 2 and 3 are English and Mathematics.
• Subjects for written assessment for Grades 4 and 5 are English, Mathematics and Science

We inform the prospective parents about our final decision within 7 days after the interaction and assessment.

CAMBRIDGE LOWER SECONDARY PROGRAMME

Grade 6 | Grade 7 | Grade 8

Based on the committee’s feedback, we call the child/children for a structured 30 to 45 minutes written assessment on the curriculum of previous grade with an objective to evaluate the child’s academic aptitude. The assessment is followed by a relaxed yet formal interaction of the child/children along with their parents with the nominated admissions panel through which we assess the child’s English proficiency and participation in sports & co-curricular activities, social service and conduct.
