The Centre for Disaster Management was established in 1997 under the central sector scheme (NDM) of Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperation, Government of India. The scheme of NDM has subsequently been transferred to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India during 2002. At present the Centre is working under School of Management Sciences and receiving fund from Tezpur University for Disaster Management related activities.
