All India Bar Examination is popularly known as AIBE is led by Bar Council of India (BCI) to evaluate the ability of a lawyer to practice the legal practice in India. It is a national level entrance test. All India Bar Examination is directed with the goal of evaluating the ability of a lawyer who wants to practice the legal services in India.
BCI conducts this exam to examine whether a law graduate has the expected ability to practice the legal matters in the nation or not. All India Bar Examination (AIBE) appeared in 2010 when the Legal Education Committee and BCI individuals passed a notice in regards to the exam. AIBE exam is held twice in a year, that is, in February/March and November/December consistently.
AIBE conducted by BCI is an open book exam, which tests a candidate’s analytic skills and the fundamental knowledge of the law. While taking AIBE exam, the aspirants can choose the medium of examination from 11 languages. The Candidate needs to secure at least 40% score to clear the AIBE exam. Once the candidate clears AIBE, he/she will be granted "Certificate of Practice" by the BCI. Any advocate who doesn't have this authentication isn't permitted to practice the law in India.
Before applying for the AIBE exam candidate must be aware of the AIBE eligibility criteria set by the bar council of India. After clearing these AIBE eligibility criteria, the candidate can fill the AIBE application form. Here are the eligibility criteria for the AIBE examination:
NATIONALITY
The Candidate should be an Indian citizen.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
The candidate must pass either the 3-year or the 5-year L.L.B degree from the BCI recognized university.
There is no minimum percentage to apply for this examination.
AGE CRITERIA
There is no age limit for the AIBE examination.
NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS
The Candidate can apply for this examination any number of times. There is no age limit set by the BCI.
ENROLLMENT WITH STATE BAR COUNCIL
To appear for this examination, it is compulsory for the candidate to enroll in his/her state council.
The candidate must possess the advocate enrollment card issued by the state bar council.
