About

The Madras English Baptist Church was founded on 21 November 1847. In 1850, the Church Started the Baptist Mission School in the Present Building 1. In the year 1900 the school was discontinued. The Rt Rev. Edward Aaron Chowryappah Baynes, B.D., served the Church faithfully from 1939-1969. When the present Sr. Missionary Pastor and Chairman, The Rt Rev. Dr.J.A.L. Baynes, S.B. took over, the Lord Jesus Christ guided the Board of Trustees to start the Baynes Memorial Baptist Church Matriculation School in the same Building 1 on January 4,1971. By the Grace of God and because of first Class Teaching and professional management, the School was Recognised by The University of Madras June from 1976. Thereafter it was upgraded as a Higher Secondary School from June 1981

Admission Procedure

A pupil who has attended any recognised Secondary School can be admitted only when a transfer certificate from the school is produced.
Pupils coming from Primary School or after Private Study shall be examined and admitted only to the class for which they are found fit.
Pupils who are found to have obtained admission by false representation shall be summarily expelled.
Application for admission should be made in the prescribed Form available at the office.
Special Fees should be paid before the pupil's name is entered in the Register.
Application for admission should made by the parent of guardian with the approval of the parents living.
Each pupil has to pay the Special Fees in June and January.
Applications for withdrawals at the end of the School year must be made by March 14 of the Calendar year, if application is made after this, the fees for the year must be paid.
