Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya is an all-girls' residential school - located in Gwalior- a historical city of Madhya Pradesh. About 300 Km south of Delhi, it is well connected with all major cities of the country .The school was founded by Late Rajmata of Gwalior Srimant Vijaya Raje Scindia in 1956 with a view to educating the girl child in the context of newly independent India. It embodies her dream of providing progressive modern education and equipping young girls to be good citizens. Inaugurated by the then President of India, H E Dr Rajendra Prasad, the school took off on its mission to stay grounded to roots of tradition and to take wing in the exhilarating air of freedom.
The entry level class at SKV is standard VI. In today's competitive world, the need of the hour is to reduce the stress level of the students and at the same time increase their creativity. The school tries to develop in our students the ability to 'create' as against 'copy' by providing an experiential learning curriculum in the formative years. It not only enhances their learning potentials but also brings them to the center stage of learning. The medium of instruction is English. The school follows a system of CCE - Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation for classes VI - X where student's performance is assessed throughout the academic session on the basis of Formative and Summative assessments.

The school admits girls in classes VI to IX & XI through an Aptitude Assessment and an Interaction, which is held in the school in the month of November every year. Registrations begin in July for the session beginning in April of the subsequent year.
A student applying for admission in class VI must be at least 10 ½ years old in the 1st week of April of the year of joining the school, which is the lower age limit for entry into the school.
Students registered for classes VI to IX are expected to appear for an Aptitude Assessment based on English & Mathematics, and an Interaction, which is held in the school in November every year for the session beginning in April of the subsequent year.
Admission is offered to the students based on the result of the Aptitude Assessment & Interaction and depending on the number of vacancies available.

Students registered for class XI will appear for an Aptitude Assessment based on the class X syllabus, which will be shared by the admissions department post-registration. The Assessment & Interaction is conducted in December every year.
A provisional admission is offered to students on clearing the Assessment & Interaction. However, the final stream/subject for class XI will be reviewed for confirmation based on the board results and our cut-off percentage.
The selected students for class XI are expected to join the school in the 1st week of July.
