About

St. Mary's Convent College, Nainital is situated on a gently sloping hill with 26 acres of ground, admiringly adapted for a boarding school. It was founded in 1878 by Mother Salesia Reiner, to provide an all round education to all sections of society, regardless of caste, creed or financial status. The children are prepared for the ICSE Examination at the Class 10 level and ISC Examination at the +2 level, conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi.

The school is managed by the sisters of the Congregation of Jesus, in collaboration with a dedicated and competent staff. This institution, established and administered by the Christian Society, comes under articles 29 and 30 of the Indian Constitution

Admission Procedure

The School prospectus and Registration form for all Classes Prep to 9 are available from the School office in the months of June and July for the ensuing year. All applications for admission should be addressed to the Principal so as to reach her by 15th September.

Girls (day-scholars only) are admitted to Class Prep at the age of 4 plus.

Admission tests for the above classes will be held in October/November.

Admissions to various Classes (other than Prep & 3) will depend on the vacancies in each class at the end of the academic year.

A student of Class X will not automatically granted admission into Class XI.  Fresh applications will be invited for admission into Class XI.

No student will be admitted without the Transfer Certificate obtained from the school last attended. If a student comes from any other Board and/or  a School other than from Uttarakhand State, the Inspector of School of that particular State/ District must countersign the Transfer Certificate.

At the time of admission the following documents shall be submitted:
 (i) Latest Progress Report of the student
(ii) Transfer Certificate.

A student's Name and Date of Birth as recorded in the Transfer certificate are official and legal and may not be changed by the School authority.

Students are required to be present in the School for the full academic  year. Vacancies will not be reserved for latecomers, neither will leave granted before the official closing date. No deduction in fees will made for any periods of absence during the year.

Should any student, boarder or day-scholar fail to return to the school after any vacation within three days of the official date of opening, without  certified intimation to the Principal, her name will be struck off from School register.
