About the Programme M.Sc in Surgery

The word Surgery is derived formulation ,word Chirurgie which means handwork. This ancient technique was the combination of instrumental technique and operative manual to investigate the disease or injury and to perform necessary actions to improve the state of injury to the normal condition.

M.Sc in Surgery Course Duration

The course duration is of three academic years which is divided into six semesters including the examination period. A maximum of five years' time has been given to an individual to complete the course. A candidate can appear seven times in the final examination, if get fails to qualify then shall be discharged from the course.

The course is not available through distance learning.

What is M.Sc in Surgery?

The candidates who appear for this postgraduate course are called Junior Residents. These Junior Surgical Residents are trained in the discipline of surgery and operate under the guidance and supervision of Senior experienced Surgeons. Master of Surgery provides a Doctor qualification in surgery. After completing of course successfully, doctors become certified Surgeons. Basic Sciences as Applied to Surgery, Operative Surgery, Recent Advances in Surgery are some of the subjects undertaken during the course.
