Army Public Schools (APS) in Noida

A long time back, a chain of 130 public schools was established across the country by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). These schools are called the Army Public Schools or the APS. Their aim is to impart education to the children of the personnel of the Indian Armed Forces, i.e., the Indian Army, the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force.

The Army Public Schools are also open for admission to the children of civilians but they give preference to the children of the Defense personnel. All the APS are affiliated to the CBSE and are managed by the regional commands of the army. Each of them has a senior Army Officer of the rank of Brigadier as its Chairman and one of the ranks of Major General as its Patron.

Noida is a part of the National Capital Region (NCR) and a fast-developing industrial area which is a hub of corporate houses. This means that a lot of young working people are the residents of the city which consequently implies that the city has a large population of young children. Due to this, a lot of schools are coming up in this region. The schools here provide good-quality education.

The APS in Noida is co-educational public schools which were founded in the year 1995. The schools provide education starting from the Lower Kindergarten (LKG) levels up to the class 12 levels which mean that each of them has a total of at least 1000 students between the age of 5 and 18 studying in it.

The APS in Noida is famous for the emphasis laid by them on the participation of students in co-curricular activities. The students here have to follow a strict code of conduct which ensures that they turn out to be extremely well-behaved and highly disciplined.

As suggested by the academic records, the teaching imparted to students here is knowledge-oriented which helps them perform well in myriad walks of life apart from getting high scores in their results. Facilities of outdoor sports, indoor games, creative activities, educational tours and excursion trips are also provided to the students on a regular basis.

The APS, Noida is also famous for being the only schools in India that provide four different streams to the students of class 11th and 12th, one of which the Management stream (English, Economics, Math, Psychology, Computer Science)-is exclusively offered by them and no other school in India.
