This is to be considered because pursuing MBBS will open up more career options by specializing and treating patients in multiple ailments or even specializing in one. On the other hand, if you pursue BAMS, you will only be able to treat with Ayurveda, and only at a preliminary level.

BAMS doctors can earn up to Rs.50,000 per month after gaining experience. Salary after completing an MBBS It can range from 30,000 per month for a new doctor to as much as 2-3 lakh per day for a highly accomplished super-specialist.

BAMS Admission Process 

  • National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the basis for the selection of the students in the BAMS Course.
  • In India, NEET is compulsory for admission into many medical courses including the BAMS Course.
  • The centralized counseling held after the NEET exam for the admission of the NEET qualified students in the various courses of the medical science according to their performance in the Entrance exam i.e. NEET.
  • Interviews are also done by various colleges for giving admission to the students in BAMS.

BAMS Eligibility

The minimum eligibility criteria for applying in the BAMS course are as follows:

  • Candidates need to have a minimum of 50%-60% in their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • The minimum required score in the 10+2 may vary according to the different institutions present in India.
  • Candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the main subjects in the 12th board examinations.
  • The upper age limit for the candidates appearing for the NEET exam from the general category is 20 years. While, a relaxation of 4 years is given to the reserved categories.

BAMS Entrance Exams 

The NEET entrance exam is the most accepted entrance exam for getting into BAMS courses. There are also some State-level examinations for taking the admission in the State Government College for BAMS. The name of these exams are as follows:

BAMS Curriculum 

  • The BAMS graduate degree course consists of three different sections of the academic semester of 1 and ½ years each.
